From the paperbag series, to draw breath …

A quiet sense of beauty takes over when you observe a bird in flight, for me it is the thought that they alone possess the ability to exist within a liminal spacethe space betwixt and between heaven and earthyet for these liminal creatures they must inevitably come back to earth, to the material world to nest, reproduce and die. Here the birds, found in death, become a source of contemplation into the transient nature of the corporeal.
